Tap Glands

Tap valves and tap glands are two terms for the same thing. Because both the hot and cold taps open in the same direction, in some circumstances the same gland can be installed on both. Measure the diameter of the old tap gland you're replacing to make sure you get the right size. Additionally, turning off the water supply is advised before changing a tap.

One of the main reasons for a leaking tap is that the seat is worn or corroded and it's good practice to clean it up with a tap reseating tool prior to replacing the valve
